Role Overview
The Senior Operations Leader will be responsible for surpassing business objectives by ensuring the consistent achievement of all financial and operational KPIs. This role involves collaborating with a broader support team to maintain outstanding safety conditions for all employees, meet customer expectations for quality and delivery, and inspire a team of operational leaders to achieve excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-departmental coordination to exceed strategic objectives and dashboard KPIs.
- Monitor operational results and requirements across all plants.
- Continuously assess needs to align with the financial viability of manufacturing excellence.
- Establish and enforce operational policies.
- Demonstrate leadership by modeling commitment and involvement.
- Oversee major budgetary projects, including justification, deployment, and implementation.
- Conduct regular standard work meetings to drive organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with ethical conduct and employee manuals.
- Develop and implement efficient plans for material, labor, and equipment utilization.
- Guarantee timely production of parts, assemblies, and final products according to established standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to formulate manufacturing plans, schedules, and targets, ensuring performance and quality goals are met.
- Manage the activities of supervisors and individual contributors.
- Responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining talent, as well as conducting performance appraisals and pay reviews for direct reports.
- Review capacity and schedules across departments using level loading and KB tools.
- Drive continuous process improvements through lean and six sigma methodologies.
- Work with the operations team to enhance gross profit and contribution margin.
- Develop the operational talent pool by optimizing existing team skills and collaborating with recruitment teams to attract top external talent.
- Implement a robust communication and engagement model to ensure all teams understand business performance and their own needs.
- Identify and implement operational best practices through collaboration with wider teams.
- Motivate and manage supervisors and support staff to ensure the achievement of overall targets and business plans.
- Effectively coach and manage supervisors and support staff.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Master's degree is advantageous; DFT/Lean Certification preferred.
- Understanding of Electro-Mechanical systems and experience.
- Experience with PCB, cables, XFMR metal fabrication, top-level assembly, and testing.
- Leadership training or certifications.
- Proven experience in inventory management and ERP (APICS certification preferred).
- Over 15 years in operations and manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a management role; experience in Maquila/Free Zone is a plus.
- Familiarity with labor and environmental laws, with a willingness to learn about local regulations.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing culture and materials/inventory management concepts.
- Understanding of ISO certification processes, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Ability to foster a positive and respectful work environment through strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Extensive experience managing operational facilities focused on customer service.
- Strong strategic and customer focus with awareness of broader issues affecting customers.
- Proven management and relationship management experience at a senior, strategic level.
- Track record of exceeding targets and KPIs in a quality assurance and compliance environment.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Evidence of well-developed leadership capabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
