Ribbon Communications Operating Company is seeking a highly skilled Network Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing network specifications and design documents to support the implementation and integration of assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Document Network Solutions: Develop high-level network design plans and detailed network element engineering documents to meet customer requirements.
- Identify and Mitigate Risks: Analyze current network configurations and identify potential risks and impacts to ensure seamless integration of new projects.
- Collaborate with Customers: Work closely with customers to understand their desired solutions and ensure they clearly understand all project criteria and deliverables.
- Solution Validation: Validate network solutions to ensure they meet customer expectations and company standards.
- Review and Update Documentation: Review existing documentation and update as necessary to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Project Support: Provide project support through services completion, including engineering solution and budget review.
Deliverables:
- Early Job Conference (EJC): Conduct customer meetings to review scope details and gather customer inputs required for the project.
- Customer Information (CI): Gather, review, and agree on final engineering inputs with customers.
- Logical Network Design: Develop logical network design documents, including IP addressing details.
- Network Design Document: Create high-level network design documents outlining the solution.
- Spec Book: Develop logical configuration documents, including IP addressing details.
- Test and Verification Plan: Create and validate detailed test and verification plans, including test cases to be performed.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively with others, and self-motivated individuals able to learn quickly.
- Technical Skills: Unix/Linux/Solaris knowledge and skills, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Travel and Work Schedule:
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
- Work Schedule: May be required to work off normal business hours.
