We are excited to present an opportunity for the role of Accounting and Internal Controls Supervisor. In this position, you will be pivotal in ensuring adherence to SOX and internal control standards across operations and finance teams. Your responsibilities will include enhancing existing systems to uphold an effective internal control framework at the LMCA level, overseeing compliance with SOX controls to mitigate operational and financial risks, and ensuring successful audits that align with SOX, USGAAP, MEXGAAP, LEAP, and C-TPAT regulations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating quarterly SOX training sessions for the LMCA plant.
  • Updating training materials in preparation for quarterly SOX training based on internal control assessments, policy updates, and compliance evaluations.
  • Managing the SOX internal control portal to reflect updates, communications, tools, and training resources.
  • Collaborating with plant management to implement corrective actions addressing SOX deficiencies on a quarterly basis and validating supporting documentation.
  • Conducting quality reviews (both operational and financial) at plants in accordance with SOX, LEAP, and C-TPAT, and documenting compliance to prevent risks and ensure favorable outcomes in both internal and external audits.
  • Ensuring that documentation supporting commercial reserves is accurately prepared and updated quarterly on the WP portal.
  • Reviewing the statutory financial statements in Spanish for Lear's legal entities annually and overseeing the English translations.
  • Providing support and expertise to LMCA plants regarding internal control inquiries.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949 standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Managing personnel effectively.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Business with a focus on Accounting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an internal auditor within an audit firm or the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel), SAP, HFM, and QAD.
  • Essential knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, finance, and accounting processes under US and MEX GAAP, particularly in the automotive industry and internal control.
