Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Controller to join our team at Flexsteel Industries, Inc. in Mexico. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust control environment for our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting and finance function for our Mexico manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement controls and procedures to maintain a robust financial control environment, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Manage statutory reporting, income tax, and VAT reporting and compliance for our Mexico operations.
- Partner with corporate and site leadership to establish and achieve financial and operational goals, including the development of key performance indicators.
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and corporate requirements, analyzing and reviewing financial results with plant leadership to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze data and perform variance analysis to determine root causes and direct action plans to achieve cost, efficiency, and operational improvements.
- Establish and maintain inventory controls and procedures to ensure compliance and financial control, including inventory reporting requirements and reconciliations.
- Develop and implement procedures to identify, record, and liquidate excess and obsolete inventory, working cross-functionally with sales, sourcing, and production teams.
- Administer and maintain internal controls in accordance with corporate policy and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements within the facility.
- Supervise and direct office workforce, fostering a continuous improvement culture and working with facility leadership on special projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing and maquiladora environment.
- Strong leadership and accountability skills, with demonstrated ability to coach and develop others.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English.
- Management/supervisory experience required.
