Supply Chain Development Program Overview
The Supply Chain Development Program at Johnson Controls International is a 2-year program designed to develop recent college graduates and early-career individuals into future leaders of the company. The program provides a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the supply chain and operations functions, with a focus on material control, lean methodologies, manufacturing, and data analytics.
Program Structure and Rotation
During the 2-year commitment, participants will spend 6 months in each of 4 rotations, located in Mexico: Ciudad Juarez, Monterrey, Matamoros, and Reynosa. Each rotation will provide a unique experience, with opportunities to work in different business models and functions within the company. Participants are expected to relocate to each location every 6 months to gain exposure to various aspects of the supply chain and operations.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Seek to learn and develop understanding of cross-functional supply chain and operations from assignment teams and leaders.
- Leverage Voice of Customer, Data Collection, and Analysis to deliver continuous improvement and sustainability.
- Generate timely analysis to support decisions that generate efficiencies and simplification in scheduling and operations.
- Establish and manage databases or information with data integrity to develop analysis that enable materials control, scheduling decisions, supplier performance, and other functional KPIs.
- Maintain effective working relationships and communication with all departments, taking advantage of networking opportunities.
- Learn the JCMS maturity model and support plants in meeting standards and improvements.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how supply chain activities impact Revenue Capture, Margin Expansion (Savings), and Cash Flow.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Economics, or Business Management/Administration.
- Ability to relocate across Mexico for each assignment (4 rotations, 6 months each assignment) in the next locations: Ciudad Juarez, Monterrey, Matamoros, and Reynosa.
- Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
- Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
- Normal mechanical and analytical ability is a must with knowledge of statistical techniques and problem resolution.
