About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Reliability Engineer to join our team at Micron Technology. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provision MSSQL instances, including clustered and non-clustered configurations with replication, Azure & AWS database support.
  • Evaluate performance, security, and availability of databases to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Perform common database administration and maintenance tasks such as upgrades, backups, recoveries, migrations, etc.
  • Monitor database health and provide timely resolutions and root cause analysis for incidents to prevent issues.
  • Profile server resource usage, capacity management, optimization, and enhanced structure to improve overall efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure team members and user customers to deliver high-quality results.
  • Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and data inconsistencies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to developers and end-users.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, specifications, and refine processes to support dynamic environments.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT MSSQL Database Domain (On Prem and cloud) with proven experience in Database Operations.
  • Strong proficiency in MSSQL database management, specifically versions 2019 and 2022.
  • Solid understanding of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting MSSQL server, particularly Always ON Availability Groups, Replication, Clustering.
  • Experience in developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Knowledge of Cloud services, preferably Azure and AWS.
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
  • Ability to design and automate repetitive processes to streamline service delivery and ensure consistency.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication, decision-making, prioritization, negotiation, collaboration, and project management abilities.
  • Understanding and alignment of ITIL change and incident management processes.
