Position Overview:
The Asset Protection Specialist plays a crucial role as a high-level hourly associate within Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). This position is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of assets, including personnel, facilities, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property within a designated fulfillment center.

The Asset Protection Specialist reports directly to the Loss Prevention Manager overseeing their facility and collaborates with the FC Operational team and various cross-functional teams across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators to drive improvements and achieve desired outcomes efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls as per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations relevant to the area.
  • Assist in the investigation of both internal and external theft and fraud, conducting interviews as necessary.
  • Foster a culture of performance excellence among all members of the security services team.
  • Align actions and performance with the organization’s vision and values, clearly articulating these to the team.
  • Meet or exceed objectives that align with the security service model.
  • Identify, advocate for, and implement best practices in security within the designated FC.
  • Act as the department's liaison and security expert for facility management, keeping them informed of critical issues, strategies, and departmental performance.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to assess current and future security services, processes, and initiatives.
  • Coordinate data collection from multiple FCs, conducting analyses to generate strategic and tactical insights.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office Professional Suite, with intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Intermediate proficiency in English (B1+).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts and certification is desirable.
  • Strong experience with databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, and Exception Based Reporting.
  • Experience in interviewing and interrogation techniques; Wicklander and Zulawski certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or nearing completion of a Bachelor's degree within one year.
  • Experience in warehouse or distribution center operations.
  • Knowledge of workplace violence and/or business continuity practices.
  • Understanding and implementation of best practices related to physical security systems, investigative techniques, effective oversight of contract security personnel, and loss mitigation strategies in distribution centers.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Analytical experience in performance-driven, action-oriented settings.
