General Summary

The HR Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing complex tasks within the Human Resources domain. This position requires significant judgment and initiative to navigate challenges and propose effective solutions. The incumbent will operate with minimal supervision and will refer to management for situations that are not addressed by standard procedures. The role may involve providing guidance to peers and establishing key relationships both internally and externally to facilitate information exchange and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Administrator is responsible for a variety of functions, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the administration of HR programs related to Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and Recruitment.
  • Engaging in recruitment activities such as job postings, career fairs, and conducting interviews.
  • Managing incoming applicant files, screening candidates, and coordinating interview processes.
  • Overseeing the offer process and associated onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Participating as an administrative representative in projects involving HR transactions.
  • Assisting with benefits enrollment and providing necessary information as requested.
  • Delivering customer service support to applicants, employees, and management.
  • Addressing and resolving HR-related inquiries from employees.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of relevant government legislation and HR policies.
  • Proficient in responding to inquiries from customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service capabilities.
  • Competence in accurate data entry and management of sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with HRIS software and various computer applications including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple detailed assignments.

Physical Requirements

  • The role is typically performed in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to various elements.
  • Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting and focused attention on computer screens.
  • Repetitive manual tasks such as data entry are frequently necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required for business purposes.

Experience and Education

  • A minimum of four to six years of relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • High school diploma with additional coursework or equivalent experience is required.
