Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Continental. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows, and conducting time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows and improve production efficiency.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for process improvement.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in the analysis of production data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Support the troubleshooting and resolution of production issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of quality control measures and conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing projects and Six Sigma activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of production schedules and material requirements to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.
  • Assist in the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to support new product introductions and the scaling up of manufacturing processes.
  • Document and report project progress, findings, and recommendations to the manufacturing engineering team.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for creating and modifying engineering drawings. Familiarity with manufacturing software tools, such as ERP systems or process simulation software, is a plus.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data and use statistical methods to identify trends and make informed decisions. Knowledge of tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or process improvement methodologies is beneficial.
  • Problem-solving abilities: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify root causes of issues and propose effective solutions. Ability to work independently and take initiative when faced with challenges.
  • Communication and teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, document procedures, and present findings. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to group projects.
  • Time management and organizational skills: Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, manufacturing processes, and industry trends. Flexibility to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Safety consciousness: Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and a commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
