Job Summary
Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a talented lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute, storage, database, messaging, and more. AWS also develops advanced IoT, machine learning, and other devices and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, and advise on strategic enterprise agreements and technology licensing agreements.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance issues.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and global expansion.
- Participate in other AWS legal projects, including managing legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal experience.
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent.
- JD (or Mexico or foreign equivalent) and membership in Mexico Bar Association or equivalent.
- Business fluent Spanish and English language skills (speaking and writing, including negotiating and agreement drafting).
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Transactional and technology licensing experience.
- Experience in public procurement, working with government or state-owned entities.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn and grow in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional teams.
