Job SummaryWe are looking for a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining NoSQL distributed database systems like Datastax Cassandra. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Legacy Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, IBM DB2 UDB, Oracle DB, and Graph DBs. Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a must.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deploy highly scalable Cassandra database clusters on Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop and implement automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Chef.
- Work with distributed database systems like Cockroach DB and ACID databases.
- Handle common database procedures such as upgrades, backups, recovery, migration, and maintenance.
- Design and deploy large-scale web and database infrastructures that are highly available, performing, cost-effective, and sustainable.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance performance and provide increased functionality.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop new beneficial programs and data solutions.
- Develop a solid understanding of Cassandra schema, CQL query, Cassandra command-line utility, and DataStax Ops Center.
- Experience with GCP Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Google managed databases is a plus.
- Define and deliver robust monitoring solutions for database tiers.
- Design and implement database infrastructure and processes to support true 24x7x365 operations.
- Analyze incidents, performance, metrics, and trends to proactively determine and resolve potential site issues.
- Proactively analyze performance to identify bottlenecks and handle incidents, bugs, and provide solutions with root cause analysis.
- Monitor performance, fine-tune queries, and troubleshoot issues.
