About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Lead to join our team at FLSmidth. As a key member of our global purchasing team, you will be responsible for leading a team of buyers and providing purchasing support for our business operations in Mexico.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of buyers to achieve purchasing strategies, commodity plans, and overall purchasing policies.
  • Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date vendor records and ratings.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs among the team.
  • Develop and execute purchasing procedures within established guidelines.
  • Train and develop personnel under supervision, identifying future resource requirements.
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Mining experience (Required).
  • Buying and expediting experience required.
  • Constant communication with international suppliers.
  • Experience supervising small teams.
  • 5 years of experience in international buying in the mining industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with international suppliers (Required).
  • 3 years of experience in Oracle.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Knowledge of FLSmidth equipment is preferred.
  • Individual should possess a sense of urgency, be customer-driven, and motivated.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, good time management skills.
  • Pleasant demeanor, good with colleagues, calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organization skills and ability to prioritize work based on customer requirements.
  • Internal stakeholder communication.
  • Blueprint reading is desirable.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Excellent coordination and collaboration skills.
