Job Title: EHS Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Leader to join our team at American Axle & Manufacturing. As an EHS Leader, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring manufacturing environment and processes to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create mechanisms for assessing and addressing risks or hazards to plant and transport personnel and environment.
  • Monitor existing infrastructure and processes for compliance and potential risks or hazards; conduct EHS inspections.
  • Coordinate activities and containment actions in the event of accidents.
  • Investigate and compile reports on accidents or environmental incidents.
  • Provide EHS training.
  • Investigate causes of accidents, injuries, or illnesses; prepare reports of findings and solutions for minimizing or preventing recurrence.
  • Conduct research and assessment of the proper use, selection, and limitations of major safeguarding devices.
  • Provide support to plant manager or site leader in addressing EHS-related issues.
  • Evaluate potential health hazards or damage that could occur from misuse of products; engineer solutions to improve EHS.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure conditions are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain necessary documentation for internal or governmental regulations and standards. Provide documentation to internal or external auditors as needed.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments; create, communicate, and implement emergency-management programs.
  • Coordinate emergency-management activities with community, partners, and insurers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
