The role involves performing periodic checks of the region's customs declarations, assuring the correct operation of all import/export moves across the region, avoiding government fines and impacts to the business and goods being moved across markets. You will also be responsible for coordinating the agenda on classification of goods, confirming the correct HS Tariff Codes are being used, as well as confirming if there are any Free Trade Zone benefits for those specific products and origins resulting in cost avoidance from import duties.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity:

The key responsibilities include creating a baseline of free trade agreements, special programs, free trade zones, and special duty regimes currently in use in the region. Additionally, the role involves creating a baseline of existing incoterms being used and developing incoterm-based strategies for operational benefits and possible productivity gains while working alongside the ocean procurement team.

The role also entails analyzing new duty optimization opportunities that leverage the team's productivity targets such as free trade agreements or special import/export programs. Furthermore, the Compliance Sr Analyst will support the team's automation initiatives in collaboration with the global excellence and continuous improvement teams.

Other key responsibilities include supporting the team in delivering a baseline of existing incoterms, free trade agreements, special import/export programs, free trade zones, and import/export duty regimes. Additionally, the role involves supporting yearly strategies for the customs and trade team including operational forecasting, planning, and working together with the ocean procurement manager for volume forecasting and planning.

The Compliance Sr Analyst will also support standardization, continuous improvement, and knowledge management to unlock overall Import/Export and Customs & Trade optimization and decision-making across sectors. Furthermore, the role involves supporting automation initiatives that result in productivity and time savings for the team.

  • Create baseline of free trade agreements, special programs, free trade zones and special duty regimes that are currently being used in the region.
  • Create a baseline of existing incoterms being used and create incoterm based strategies for operational benefits and possible productivity working alongside the ocean procurement team.
