About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving innovation in our production methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Apply your in-depth knowledge of Lean & 5S principles to streamline operations, improve safety, minimize waste, and optimize efficiency across manufacturing processes.
  • Technology Integration: Identify and evaluate opportunities to introduce new technologies and methodologies in our operations to enhance process efficiency and product quality. Work with operations teams to develop Scope of Work (SOW), capital investment plan, and Return on Investment (value) justification for projects.
  • Equipment Assessment: Lead assessments of existing operational equipment by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to fortify processes and mitigate risk through the implementation of industrial solutions.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external suppliers to source capital equipment, support contract negotiations, develop acceptance criteria, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Project Management: Lead and implement simultaneous projects related to manufacturing process improvements, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with NPD teams to ensure new products enforce to design for manufacturing standard processes.
  • Support Functions: Provide support to various functions within operations as needed, fostering a multi-functional and collaborative environment. Working collectively across multiple manufacturing sites to develop / implement global guidelines and define standard methodologies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field such as industrial technology. Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of significant experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on new product introductions, equipment development, new technology, and product line transfers.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to collect, analyze, and interpret data for informed decision-making and process improvement.
  • Project Management: Confirmed project management skills with the ability to complete projects successfully.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and solving problems.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Travel: Individual must be willing and able to travel as needed up to 25%; a valid passport is required.
  • Language: Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technology Competence: Competence with technology, including PLC programming and integration of electro-mechanical systems.
  • ERP Systems: Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Systems Integration: Understanding of systems integration languages like SQL to establish communication between Oracle and automated equipment.
  • PMP Certification: PMP Certification.
  • New Product Development: Experience with new product development teams for ensuring successful product launch by coordinating production readiness and establishing robust sustainment plans.
  • Statistical Analysis: Ability to apply statistical analysis tools such as Excel and Minitab for distribution interpretation, control chart generation, Cpk calculation, etc.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in Spanish/English.
  • Assembly Automation: Experience implementing automated assembly processes utilizing position sensors, actuators, material feeders, conveyors, barcoding, digital work instructions, and vision systems in a high mix & low volume manufacturing environment.
  • SCADA Systems: Experience implementing SCADA systems to analyze and process industrial data.
  • Test Techniques: Experience with various test techniques to measure leak rate, flow rate, hypot, and response time using LabVIEW and/or PLC.
  • ERP Routings: Understanding of ERP routings and standards.
  • Assembly Automation: Assembly automation experience, fixing design and installation experience.
