Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a highly skilled EHS Engineer to support environmental, health, and safety efforts at the site.
Key Responsibilities- Support EHS activities at the assigned area, including maintaining EHS systems and processes, reporting and communication of EHS metrics, collection and organization of EHS action items, supporting EHS training initiatives, and supporting EHS teams.
- Lead and support incident investigations, and support site internal assessment activities.
- Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security, and Health) and utilize MESH tools to drive improvements.
- Support risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
- Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
- Support tracking and accomplishment of EHS goals for the site.
- Support and promote a zero-incident EHS culture throughout the site.
- Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish established targets and objectives for the year.
- Work with EHS leaders and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations applicable to site operations.
- Support efforts for third-party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton's EHS program as world-class.
- Provide support on using established EHS digital data processes.
- Support efforts to ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
- Assure contractor information is in compliance with local regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate high-risk activities and obtain necessary permits for contractors and maintenance personnel.
- Associate degree or four-year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in the EHS field.
- Ability to identify state and country EHS requirements.
- Ability to facilitate EHS teams.
- Ability to utilize company-wide systems for reporting EHS data and information.
- Ability to conduct training.
- Intermediate English (spoken and writing) skills.
- Ability to integrate EHS with other functions.
- Ability to act as an agent of change, effective in enabling and driving change.
- Delivering all communication with clarity, impact, and passion, and tailored to the audience.
