Job Summary:

The Compliance Business Control Manager provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure the effective management of risk and compliance within CitiGroup. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of business processes and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of quality and control professionals to ensure the timely and accurate completion of reviews and audits.
  • Develop and implement quality procedures and processes to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor team workflow and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyze results and reporting, providing insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multiple lines of business and management levels to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Exercise full leadership and supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team members.
  • Act as a consultant to the business, providing expertise and guidance on process improvements and risk management.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for all work performed, identifying and mitigating risks as needed.
  • Drive corrective actions and develop recommendations for process improvements.
  • Work with multiple MIS and system teams to ensure data is available for result analysis.
  • Collaborate with Ops Quality Control team members located in multiple sites.
  • Help drive consistency between the functions of Credit Operations through quality reviews, control reviews, audit feedback, and results.
  • Exercise independence of judgment and autonomy, making sound business decisions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
  • Ability to manage teams and assess risk when business decisions are made.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience leading teams, preferably in a risk management or compliance role.
  • Ability to analyze results and identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience in creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and work diligently under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate with multiple lines of business and management levels.
  • Credit Operations experience required.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating across diverse groups.
  • Navigates complexity to create clear, often unique solutions.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.
  • Performance record with a history of increased responsibility and task/project delivery.
  • Proven ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Superior execution skills with a focus on clear, realistic action steps and timelines.
  • Proven ability to communicate business rationale to internal and external counterparts.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
