About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the capital management function for Mexico and Latin America, ensuring the bank's capital planning is aligned with business objectives. This role requires a high degree of self-reliance, initiative, and drive to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across the region.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive capital management strategy for Mexico, working closely with Regulatory Reporting to ensure adequate capital levels.
- Provide strategic analysis and projections to inform senior management and the Board on capital management matters.
- Collaborate with Group Capital Management to advise on capital issuances by Latin America entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage capital risks for Mexico's bank, ensuring all risks are appropriately tracked and sensitivities understood and tested.
- Promote understanding of structural FX/IR risks to capital in the region and develop strategies for mitigating these risks.
- Evidence progress in embedding risk and returns in the capital allocation process and engage the business in this process.
- Ensure all capital issuances in the region meet regulatory requirements to qualify as capital.
- Work with Business Lines to understand the impacts of business initiatives on capital management.
- Communicate with regulators and industry bodies on regulatory initiatives.
- Provide proactive capital planning support and advice to Strategy, Latin America Finance functions, businesses, and regional sites undergoing change.
Leadership and Teamwork
- Provide insightful management information to support the effective management of capital.
- Maintain and develop productive relationships with Finance and Business teams.
- Manage onshore and offshore teams.
- Proactively support training and development.
