Job Summary

As a Sales Director at Marriott, you will lead and manage all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships. Your primary objective will be to achieve property sales objectives, while providing positive and aggressive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with sales leaders to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation for the segment.
  • Create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and the market for the segment led by the DOS.
  • Assist in developing and implementing promotions, both internal and external.
Maximizing Revenue:
  • Provide leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential (e.g., set an example with personal booking goals).
  • Recommend booking goals for sales team members.
Managing Sales Activities:
  • Monitor all day-to-day activities of direct reports.
  • Approve space releases for catering to maximize revenue in the absence of a Business Evaluation Manager.
  • Participate in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business or close existing deals.
Analyzing & Reporting on Sales and Financial Data:
  • Analyze market information using sales systems and implement strategies to achieve property financial room and catering goals.
  • Assist Revenue Management in completing accurate six-period projections.
  • Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas for improvement.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify customer service, and create a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Meet with guests during pre- and post-convention meetings to gather feedback on quality of product, service levels, execution against contract, and overall satisfaction.
Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and location.
