About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Group Leader to join our team at General Motors. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a small to medium-sized group of maintenance employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and tests to ensure optimal performance
  • Communicate evaluation results to stakeholders and recommend solutions to problems
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet schedule and quality requirements
  • Ensure compliance with local and national labor agreements
  • Implement divisional and corporate policies, safety protocols, and good housekeeping practices
  • Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with other teams outside of the work group
  • Effectively manage personnel, material, and equipment resources
  • Establish and implement GMS principles to drive process improvements
Requirements
  • Expert technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
  • Extensive experience in PLC, HMI programming, EPLAN, Ethernet, and Devicenet networks
  • Knowledge of servo motors, motion control, and drives
  • Prior experience in body shop controls, with additional controls experience in other shops a plus
  • Problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to plan and ensure monthly maintenance KPIs and start-up validation
  • Secure area WPO and support the production line
  • Risk analysis and safety self-assessment in the area
  • Resistance welding, WTC management, C Factor, robot knowledge, and PCP welding knowledge
  • Advanced English language proficiency
