Your Role in Connecting the World:

Formulate and execute annual strategies for procuring raw materials and services tailored to the Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) division. Oversee productivity, quality, inventory management, timely deliveries, cost savings, and supplier performance based on metrics established by the organization. This role requires aligning strategies and coordinating execution in collaboration with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, and others. Champion efforts to secure advantageous negotiations for all necessary materials and services, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Exhibit expertise in supply chain management, negotiations, supply strategy, development and execution, modernization, project management, and lifecycle management. Ensure that all suppliers comply with corporate standards and policies, including environmental regulations and social responsibility. Conduct regular assessments of suppliers to verify adherence to CommScope's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the materials supply chain, support the launch of new products, and play a significant role in manufacturing transitions, product relocations, cost reduction initiatives, and new project opportunities.

Your duties encompass sourcing raw materials and products according to specifications while adhering to company guidelines.

Develop suppliers in line with market demands, focusing on enhancing CCS operations through the identification and cultivation of local suppliers and solutions.

Provide critical support for the requirements of manufactured components as part of the overall product solution.

Supplier Development Strategy

Collaborate with regional operations leaders, direct supervisors, raw material buyers, and regional leaders to devise supply strategies tailored to each region.

Ensure that supply strategies and plans deliver essential support for the organization (CCS).

Guarantee that all suppliers and sourcing strategies align with the 'true total cost' approach, encompassing inventory, transportation, customs, import duties, and time-related costs.

Actively engage in and influence the procurement of materials that affect regional manufacturing in conjunction with corporate objectives, addressing both current and future needs of CCS in alignment with regional priorities.

Strategic Processes

Identify and analyze existing and potential regional suppliers for CommScope/Connectivity and Cable Solutions, including centralized and decentralized materials and services.

Work closely with customers, operations teams (planning, engineering, purchasing), and research and development teams to ensure supplier strategies align with specific direct material needs and customer requirements.

Negotiate and manage regional pricing for all raw materials competitively, as well as sourcing activities for designated material groups.

Ensure that pricing and service levels required by the CCS business unit are accurately reflected in supplier contracts.

Maintain the ERP system with up-to-date information (prices, delivery timelines, minimum purchase quantities, selected suppliers, payment terms, etc.).

Ensure that the documentation and administration of supplier contracts align with global and regional specifications, allowing all negotiated terms to be clear to supply teams across each Business Unit.

Ensure timely renegotiation and renewal of contracts before expiration.

Ensure that the supply chain for specific materials generates savings in raw materials as outlined in the Annual plan.

Proactively identify new projects, conduct analysis, and adjust risk within the supply chain.

Maintain relationships with suppliers contracted by CCS. Conduct periodic reviews to ensure contract performance and continuous improvement are achieved.

Collaborate with regional leaders and key departments to develop evaluation and reporting mechanisms for all suppliers, ensuring feedback and clarity regarding their performance within the organization and enabling comparison against expectations.

Serve as a reference point for suppliers who do not adhere to contract provisions or who underperform relative to agreed-upon terms. This includes addressing failures in quality, performance, and other contractual obligations.

Relay feedback from various CCS sites regarding supplier performance, based on key initiatives and other requirements essential for maintaining the supply base.

Monitor expenses, materials, and raw materials to meet performance metrics applicable to the Sourcing department: Annual savings in material costs (in % savings), VMI/CRP (in % savings), Supplier quality PPM/Z2, and on-time deliveries against OTP (Delivery against original planned date for delivery of materials) and OTD (Delivery against supplier promise date).

Internal relationships with: Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, Planning, Purchasing, Materials, Maintenance, Design, Operations, and Sales.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

Bachelor's degree in business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Proficient in English (95% verbal and written).

Strong focus on purchasing strategies is essential.

Experience in negotiations is required.

Certified Purchasing Manager or CPIM designation or 8+ years of experience in purchasing/supplier roles within large multinational companies focused on product manufacturing. Experience should relate to the procurement of raw and manufactured materials, along with the technical understanding this entails. Ability to adapt and excel in this role in a short timeframe.

Proven experience managing suppliers across various geographic regions (Asia, Europe, America).

Demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes in the purchasing department/supply chain, such as cost reductions or enhanced supplier performance.

Strong persuasion skills to achieve favorable results at all organizational levels.

Extensive experience leading and positively influencing cross-functional teams and significant projects in a timely and effective manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in one-on-one and group settings. Ability to assess situations and prioritize based on needs, maintaining balance in a fast-paced environment with heavy workloads. Strong problem-solving abilities in production-related functional areas, as well as in interpersonal team situations.

Familiarity with SAP production module.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Understanding of basic safety work instructions and production cycles.

Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.

Strong interpersonal skills, including project facilitation and conflict management.

Proficient in negotiation techniques.

Commitment to quality-of-life partnership principles.

Familiarity with manufacturing systems: Just in Time, World Class manufacturing, 8 Disciplines, Continuous Improvement, Poka Yoke, and 5S methodologies.

Willingness to travel, with at least 50% domestic and global travel requirements.
