Career Opportunities

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as a PE Electrical Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical circuit design, component selection, circuit analysis, and testing of BorgWarner power electronics products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in power electronics circuits design, simulation, and analysis. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical design, simulation, and analysis of power electronics circuits and systems to meet technical product requirements.
  • Conduct electrical debug, test, characterization, and validation of power electronics designs.
  • Specify, identify, select, and test key electrical components.
  • Create design and layout of circuit boards, substrates, and electrical interconnects/bus structures.
  • Develop optimized electrical, mechanical, and thermal solutions utilizing balanced requirements to meet schedule, technical, and cost constraints.
  • Work with BorgWarner systems engineers and program team to ensure proper allocation of requirements and perform verification of those requirements allocated to the electrical competency.
  • Support BorgWarner product development team with technical design analysis, trade-off studies, FMEAs, design reviews, and customer presentations.
  • Work with other engineering competencies, suppliers, and partners to ensure proper development, execution, and verification of power electronics products.
  • Apply best techniques and procedures for analysis, design, or experimental procedures.
  • Document and share best practices.
Requirements
  • BS Electrical Engineering required.
  • 10 years' experience required in some combination of the following areas or an engineering internship in a related field: automotive electronics product development, power electronics circuits design, modeling, simulating, and testing of power electronics.
  • Familiar with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of designing, integrating, and testing of DC to AC inverter motor drives and controls preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Engineering internship experience in a manufacturing/engineering industry preferred.
  • Understanding of engineering theories related to designated engineering function and applies those theories to a variety of complex tasks and situations.
  • Willingness/ability to travel 5% both domestically and internationally.
