Engineering Analyst – Design Tools Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Analyst to join our Design Tools team at Kohler. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the creation and coordination of 3D CAD symbols, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct activities related to the creation of 3D CAD symbols.
  • Exhibit strong project leadership in the planning, scheduling, organizing, and implementation of 3D CAD symbols.
  • Qualify incoming requests and assume development and quality responsibility for Kohler, Sterling, and Kallista brands and regions supported by the department.
  • Serve as the contact for new product development teams, current product teams, and customer service teams with 3D CAD symbol requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of 3D CAD symbols and communicate and negotiate to appropriately manage workload and timelines.
  • Assist in determining internal work and information flows for improved quality and delivery of files.
  • Maintain contact with customers to identify perceived shortcomings and field problems, and thereby recommend improvements.
  • Procure quotations and evaluate vendors and/or internal resources to ensure design tool quality, cost control, and timely delivery.
  • Maintain project costing information and assist supervisor in assigning cost parameters for future projects.
  • Proof file deliveries against source files and basic requirements (from a user perspective).
  • Represent the department in matters of technical content and usability of design tools and recommend and contribute to the support and maintenance of documentation of technical communication requirements, standards, and processes for all digital assets.
Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related discipline, preferably Architecture/Engineering.
  • At least five years' experience in a related technical/manufacturing field is preferred. Will substitute relevant work experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and ability to read product engineering drawings is required.
  • Requires demonstrated visualization skills – the ability to translate between two- and three-dimensional data views.
  • 3D CAD symbols user experience desired.
  • Attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills required.
  • Must be self-motivated. Requires proven interpersonal and team leadership skills. Must demonstrate proficiency at managing complex projects, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Sketchup, 3DS Max, 3D AutoCAD required.
  • Proficiency with database use and excel spreadsheets required.
  • Experience with AR/VR (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) technology is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Pro/E or Creo is a plus.
  • Candidates will use Power BI, Windchill, MS Project Online, MS Teams, and Office daily. Preference given to candidates with this software and user experience.
