Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Release Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and validation of automotive HVAC units and airflow loop components.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate HVAC unit and airflow loop components to meet performance objectives.
- Coordinate development with other functional areas, including IP, hard trim, BIW, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling, PDO, and suppliers.
- Write source packages, specifications, requirements, change notices, and manage suppliers to meet program timing and deliverables.
- Maintain component and sub-system DVP&R, support bench testing, simulation, drive-cell, and static cell test results, and perform data analysis and corrective actions as required.
- Lead virtual teams to design and perform CFD analysis of ducts to meet airflow performance.
- Support pilot build process at the assembly plant for development and installation of HVAC components.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (Engineering) from an ABET accredited university.
- 1-5 years of experience in HVAC and duct design/development, or related design experience (Engine cooling, Aero-Thermal).
- Strong PC and MS Office skills, excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and motivated to produce results.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Basic thermodynamics knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC, PTC's, ducts, and outlets.
- Experience using CAD software (NX, Catia, etc.).
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Basic knowledge in Thermodynamics.
- Automotive assembly plant experience.
