About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our team of engineers in designing, developing, testing, and deploying new customer experiences. As a key member of our Amazon International Technology team, you will be responsible for upholding a high bar in operational excellence and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, testing, and deploying new customer experiences
  • Partner across functions to help define creative vision, product requirements, user experience, and cross-team integration for retail operations in Mexico, LATAM, and the rest of the world
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, designers, product managers, business stakeholders, and central team engineers to define and drive the product from concept to production
  • Uphold a high bar in operational excellence and quality

Requirements
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 7+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
  • Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility, and often ambiguous environment
