About the Role

  • This position will oversee the work of material buyers and planners, ensuring systematic management of the procurement process.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in determining requirements, production planning, purchasing, and materials warehousing at a minimum cost.
  • Maintaining timely contacts with suppliers, analyzing product characteristics, quality, service conditions, price, and payment terms is essential.
  • The Materials and Purchasing Manager will establish procedures for purchasing actions, present offers to internal clients, and ensure timely indications and suggestions about suppliers and purchasing opportunities.
  • The role requires participation in sample testing and control to ensure compliance with specified conditions, controlling delivery times, and ensuring good condition of articles/materials and their reception.
  • The successful candidate will search for alternative suppliers that can offer improved quality, better terms, lead times, and price than current ones.
  • Monitoring or informing on current inventory or stock, notifying and supporting design actions on deviations due to excess or defects in the warehouse is crucial.
  • The Materials and Purchasing Manager will manage activities based on materials planning to ensure necessary material meets production schedules, aligning demand with both internal and external capacity.
  • A strong line of communication with sales and marketing teams is vital, as well as collaboration with production managers regarding production, planning, and forecasting customer orders for shipment fulfillment.
  • Developing strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure capacity to meet demand requirements and implementing VMI – Vendor Managed Inventory programs to reduce inventory in the short term are key responsibilities.
  • The role involves responsible inventory management to meet corporate objectives.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a bachelor's degree in International Business, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish is essential, along with more than 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing industry in a similar role like Supply Chain Manager, Materials Manager, or Purchasing Manager.

A strong hands-on experience with purchasing management, sourcing new suppliers and materials, contract and price negotiations, and Production Planning and Materials Planning (buyer/planning) is required. Experience with cost reduction and price reductions is also crucial.

Solid knowledge and experience in supply chain, knowledge of AX Dynamic ERP system or other similar ERPs, and Microsoft Office (EXCEL, Word, and PowerPoint) are must-haves. Personnel management skills, being proactive, dynamic, focused on results, and a team player are essential qualities for this position.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The company offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
