**Job Summary:**

As the Engineering Director at Polaris, you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of our engineering teams and activities at the Monterrey Engineering Development Center. This includes partnering closely with cross-functional global product development teams to execute engineering programs successfully.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Champion and lead the technical execution of all engineering vehicle programs in Mexico through the Product Development Process (PDP), ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Partner with Product Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Compliance, Finance, and Global Engineering teams to review and support long-range product plans, yearly budgets, and technical execution plans.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality Standards are achieved and executed across the product portfolio.
  • Continually advance the engineering team, optimizing structure and bringing in new capabilities to drive future growth plans.
  • Lead the engineering team in Mexico, driving employee development, engagement, and capability building for the site.
  • Manage multimillion-dollar R&D budgets, driving productivity and efficiency.
  • Benchmark Off-Road industry and parallel similar industries to drive learnings across the organization.
  • Own product quality requirements and improvement plans for Off-Road products.
  • Identify and implement tools and processes to improve Vehicle development.
  • Ensure alignment across the global organization, including functional teams and the business.
  • Manage day-to-day building needs, along with annual capital planning and long-term plans for the Engineering building.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations discipline.
  • MBA or Master degree in Engineering field.
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in Engineering Manufacturing industries, with previous leadership in automotives companies recommended.
  • 10+ years of direct leadership experience preferred or an experienced and proven leader who has demonstrated ability to build effective departmental and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly collaborative and thrives in a global matrixed environment.
  • Proficient in English, spoken and written.

**Preferred:**

  • Understanding of product development methodologies for a wide range of engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the development of complex systems and/or technologies following a well-defined process, preferably PDP.
  • Cross-functional project management and/or commodity management experience required.
  • Ideal candidate has experience working in a durable goods manufacturing environment, targeting industries such as agriculture equipment, automotive, appliance, powersports, construction, aviation, or tier I automotive.

**Working Conditions:**

  • Normal office working conditions.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
