Role Overview

As a Supply Chain Procurement Leader at BorgWarner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our materials strategies. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance our collective purchasing power while ensuring optimal supplier performance and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Development: Spearhead the creation and management of regional materials strategies aimed at maximizing synergy opportunities.
  • Contract Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with key suppliers to secure advantageous contracts.
  • Material Sourcing: Advocate for the bidding and execution of material strategies that cater to both internal and external customers.
  • Order Management: Conduct thorough reviews of comparative commercial charts to facilitate informed decision-making in generating purchase orders.
  • Supplier Agreements: Oversee complex agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance and performance standards are met.
  • SAP Management: Effectively manage relevant modules in SAP corresponding to the Purchasing business system (ERP).
  • Performance Metrics: Ensure adherence to performance and cost metrics aligned with business strategies, developing plans to meet established objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Integrate tools and principles of standardization, 5S's, TPM, and continuous improvement into daily operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all purchases comply with quality, safety, health, environmental, and hygiene regulations.
  • Safety and Quality: Stay informed and take action on safety, environmental, ergonomics, and quality issues relevant to your responsibilities.
  • Supply Chain Participation: Actively engage in the raw material supply chain to optimize processes.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, quality, labor, and other applicable measures.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Supervise the selection and evaluation of suppliers and contractors, optimizing the supplier base.
  • Budget Management: Participate in budget formulation and oversee its execution.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise personnel within your area, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze purchasing statistics and future projects to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the GSM team to maximize supplier savings and ensure alignment with corporate strategies.
  • System Monitoring: Participate in the management of GSSF, quality management, environmental management, safety management, and C-TPAT systems.
