Molding Process Optimization Specialist

The Molding Process Engineer will be responsible for the optimization of production processes, improvement of production efficiency, and process documentation. This individual will join the process engineer team and collaborate with the SRG Global molding team to recruit, train, and coach shop team members, evaluate and make recommendations for equipment purchases, aligned with the company's principles.
Key Responsibilities- Be a technical reference for the definition and management of injection molding processes.
- Define technical specifications for new tools and new injection machines according to corporate best practices.
- Maintain periodic connections with the global molding team for continuous updating and knowledge sharing.
- Debug and optimize new molding processes, tools, materials qualification, and technology, including necessary documentation requested from the automotive market.
- Support the production area on a daily basis, reacting quickly to production problems, providing direction, and proposing solutions to lead people to solve issues and optimize the process.
- Resolve and manage issues causing line downtime or reduction of production.
- Support the molding department to reach KPI targets on efficiency, safety, quality, making process analysis and process optimization.
- Acquire knowledge of new processes and improve existing ones.
- Drive and update the PFMEA according to the requirements of the automotive industry.
- Implement training for operators and update process documentation (process sheets, checklists, maintenance plans, specific procedures) according to Automotive standards.
- Collaborate with the toolroom specialist to improve mold reliability.
- Stay up-to-date about resins, polymers, machinery, innovative solutions for plastic injection molding, etc.
- Define timing and budget for molding projects according to manufacturing industrial engineer requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Previous experience managing people as a supervisor.
- Previous proven experience in molding operations (400 to 2200 Ton Machines, Resin driers & feeders, RJG systems, Robotics).
- Problem-solving capacity.
- Ability to detect appropriate corrective actions through process data analysis.
- English intermediate, nice to have fluent speaking.
- Good digital and information systems knowledge.
- Good communication, negotiation, and team working skills.
- Strong management skills.
- Strong communication skills to motivate people and collaborate with diverse areas across the organization.
- Teamwork, planning, and organization.
- Experience in process engineer role.
- A previous experience in the Automotive industry is preferable.
- Excellent analysis and innovation skills with the ability to lead teams using Root Cause.
