Controller HIC Americas Job Description

As a Controller HIC Americas, you will play a vital role in our team, overseeing the financial operations of our Latin America entities, specifically focusing on the budget and forecast process, finance reporting, local, state, and federal tax monitoring, internal and external audits, internal control, policies, and procedures, profitability analysis, SOX and PCI compliance, cash flow management, and assessments. You will also provide administrative support to the Regional Controller and Director of Finance Americas.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations

Validate Federal and State Taxes Monthly: Provide feedback to the Regional Controller on tax calculations and filing.

Financial Target Achievement: Analyze and monitor the financial operation of the corporate office to achieve financial targets.

Closing and Reporting: Ensure accurate month-end closing and timely generation of reports (Income Statement). Provide clear explanations for variances.

Reconciliation: Maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Cash Controls: Ensure the division's work objectives are posted on the scoreboard and achieved.

Leadership: Prepare reviews and development plans, and take appropriate personnel-related actions (hire, commend, discipline, evaluate, etc.) with accounting staff as required.

Financial Reporting and Accounting Procedures: Manage financial reporting and accounting procedures, explaining main variances on Budget and forecast.

Monthly Billing and Invoicing: Ensure the Management Fees Monthly billing (AR) completeness and timely submission to the hotels.

Expense Control: Supervise expenses and Distribution Fees invoices allocations to the Hotels.

Requirements

Education: MBA focused on Finance or Taxes.

Experience: Three to five years previous experience in finance accounting department head positions.

Skills: Strong Time Management skills to meet deadlines and timely response, knowledge of computer equipment, highest level of integrity and transparency, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills, agile mindset, knowledge of local, state, and federal tax legislation, accounting, taxes, politics and procedures, Sox controls, leadership, Microsoft Office, SAP, HFM, English language skills, professional financial and taxes skills and knowledge.

Professional Background: 2 years working in a similar role, strong administration skills, strong communication skills, knowledge in CFDI rules, detailed knowledge of working practices of accounting departments.
