Position Overview:

The AME Manufacturing Business Unit Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing both Pilot and Service Operations. In the Services domain, this individual is accountable for operational management and leading the transfer of legacy parts while ensuring adherence to all operational KPIs. In the Pilot domain, the focus is on leading the Scheduling and Planning team to ensure the successful execution of Engineering Development (ED) and Design Verification (DV) builds required for North America. This role necessitates the coordination and leadership of a multidisciplinary team to meet customer requirements, engage in problem-solving, manage change, and implement production enhancements. The position is also responsible for ensuring that customer specifications are met and effectively implemented for service parts.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • AME Customer Analyst & Scheduler Leader
  • AME Senior Pilot Factory Projects Planner
  • In the absence of a designated employee, the direct supervisor will assume responsibility for the process or delegate tasks to another qualified employee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate regular meetings, both internal and external, to monitor project progress.
  • Adhere to quality systems and environmental management protocols established by the organization.
  • Develop and assess strategies to fulfill customer expectations.
  • Advocate for customer needs in internal functions in line with Quality System requirements and Customer Specific Requirements, collaborating with the Core Team.
  • Propose, recommend, or provide solutions through established communication channels.
  • Lead customer visits and audits, ensuring targets set in customer scorecards are met.
  • Maintain project status from End of Production (EOP) to End of Life (EOL) in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Coordinate process changes with Engineering teams for Service Parts and oversee implementation.
  • Manage product changes in collaboration with Program Managers and ensure effective implementation.
  • Review the status of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Time of Work (TOW).
  • Identify and document changes in product and process history.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote the development of a high-performance MBU team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Business Unit (CBU) and customers to provide robust data for business and long-term capacity planning.
  • Oversee inter-company manufacturing line and product transfer coordination.
  • Ensure the generation and release of all necessary documentation: PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, TOW, flow charts, VJIs, etc.
  • Establish project budgets and manage CAPEX applications for Service TOW.
  • Supervise the creation of Purchase Requests for all equipment essential for the project in collaboration with Process & Test Engineering for TOW.
  • Drive project risk management, escalating potential risks to the appropriate CPM or management team promptly and proposing alternatives.
  • Monitor demand accuracy and fluctuations to identify action plans for mitigating supply and cost risks.
  • Lead the definition and execution of corrective actions arising from Delivery KPI reviews for both Service and Pilot.
  • Act as a liaison between the Pilot Factory and CPM team, facilitating communication and serving as an escalation point.
  • Supervise and provide support as necessary for the execution of ED/DV samples scheduled at the Pilot facility.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electronic, Electromechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC & MSA), Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Changes, and documentation control.
  • Familiarity with customer OEM specific requirements.
  • Over 5 years of experience in an industrial product manufacturing environment.
  • More than 5 years of experience coordinating new projects and managing engineering and process changes.
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing Continuous Improvement and excellence methodologies.
  • Proficient in English (90% proficiency), with advanced reading and writing skills suitable for business-level negotiations.
