Job Summary

Brightcove is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our centralized Data organization, you will play a critical role in driving business decisions and providing direction for future growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of conducting deep analysis, applying advanced quantitative techniques, and synthesizing insights to communicate actionable recommendations to audiences at varying levels of technical sophistication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end data analysis experience, gathering business requirements, formulating and testing hypotheses, conducting data analysis, applying statistical modeling techniques, developing visualization/dashboards, and communicating findings to business stakeholders.
  • Partner with various departments to define core metrics, measure impact and effectiveness of features and business processes, optimize impact and conversion efficiencies, identify opportunities, assess risk potentials, and explain trends.
  • Apply strong business judgment to data analysis, making and defending meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reporting, visualization, and other tools to deliver business insights and show business health.
  • Continuously improve the quality and accessibility of our analytical framework and data reporting infrastructure.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics). Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably for online content, video, subscription, or e-commerce/enterprise property/platform.
  • Proficient in SQL with the ability to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets and programming/scripting language.
  • Expert knowledge with business intelligence tools and web analytics tools.
  • Strategically-minded with a penchant for data accuracy and a proven ability to solve problems, learn quickly, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
