About the role

The FCO Internal Audit Specialist role presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious audit professional eager to enhance their accounting and auditing expertise. This position offers extensive exposure to a dynamic international business environment, concentrating on the design and operational efficiency of the Company's internal control systems to effectively manage and mitigate risks. The Internal Audit department emphasizes professional growth, providing training, development, and networking opportunities, along with potential rotations into various business units. Internal Audit serves as a premier entry point into the Carrier Finance organization.

Our internal audit teams conduct risk-based evaluations and propose strategic recommendations to Carrier's business units. Collaborating closely with management, the Internal Audit group employs advanced audit methodologies and technologies to ensure value-added audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the execution of risk-focused audits
  • Evaluate risks associated with key business processes, leading to the development of audit plans and specific audit programs
  • Contribute to the creation of process maps for significant financial, business, compliance, and operational processes to identify potential internal control deficiencies and suggest improvements
  • Draft clear and concise audit findings
  • Participate in special initiatives related to departmental quality enhancement
  • Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with Big 4 or multinational firms, or in internal audit
  • CPA, ACCA, or CIA certification is a strong advantage
  • Proven ability to work effectively in teams and deliver on time
  • In-depth knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP accounting standards
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to collaborate across all levels and functions
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to guide diverse teams towards operational efficiency
  • Experience in project management, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with proven presentation capabilities
  • Proactive and driven by results and metrics
  • Willingness to travel within North and Latin America, averaging 25%-30% of work time, with occasional cross-region travel (EMEA, Asia Pacific).
