Landis+Gyr is a leading global provider of integrated energy management solutions. As a core member of the Technical Function team, the Maintenance Director will oversee the Maintenance department in our location in Reynosa, Mexico.

The Maintenance Director will be responsible for managing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of our company's facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum efficient operations of our machinery and equipment as well as monitoring the safety of our equipment. The duties will include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities, and developing maintenance procedures.

This position reports to the Technical Function Manager in Reynosa, Mexico. The core area of responsibility includes:

  • Plant, direct, and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities so that the organization's machinery and equipment operate reliably.
  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage maintenance activities to rectify break-downs and malfunctions and minimize business disruptions.
  • Develop and implement repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor the cost-effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of the maintenance team.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with contractors to minimize costs and ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Liaise with managers throughout the company to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations.
  • Prepare work orders and monitor the progress of work against estimates.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop maintenance staff so repair and service activities are completed accurately, safely, and on-time.
  • To work according to the I.M.S. (Integrated Management System) which includes ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, and 22301.

The core technical skills required for this position include:

  • Strong knowledge and technical understanding of machines and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge about fire suppression systems as well as air conditioning.
  • Understanding of lean and six sigma principles and applications.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, use hands and/or fingers, and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds amid a moderate work environment.
  • Ability to work on tasks at varying heights.
  • Be able to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in implementation and maintaining programs to ensure that the plant meets company requirements for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance and regular requirements.

The educational and professional qualifications required for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • 15+ years of experience in maintenance and management in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must be able to flex hours to support 24-7 operations.
  • English language skills.

This position may require some travel to vendor sites as well as between Landis+Gyr locations to meet with project teams, external partners, and/or business customers.
