Job Description

Purpose Statement: Ensure timely and accurate material pricing information to support Plexus Corporation's competitive pricing quotations for current and new business development opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain supplier links and determine authorized distributors and manufacturers for quoting components.
  • Support process improvement activities in the material costing area.
  • Generate reports and prepare slides in support of supplier QBRs, workload analysis, key metrics, global activity, and other miscellaneous requirements.
  • Assist the material costing team in obtaining accurate and timely quote feedback from the supply base. Contact unresponsive suppliers and update contact information and other key information on suppliers.
  • Maintain data integrity of material costing systems. Keep supplier table updated as well as support files for total cost calculation, currency conversion, and other miscellaneous maintenance activities.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Assist in providing feedback to Plexus Corporation suppliers regarding their competitiveness and timeliness to requests.
  • Understand the marketplace and maintain knowledge of key suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Participate in Executive Proposal Review to address materials-related questions and concerns. Present professional approach to suppliers, customers, and potential customers as required during the quotation process.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key manufacturers and matrix suppliers to ensure registered and/or contracted pricing for all applicable components.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or a related discipline is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering and 5+ years' experience in commodity or purchasing roles appropriate to commodity position is preferred.
  • Five (5) years of related experience is required; Ten (10) or more years of related experience is preferred.
  • ISM seminars or membership, CPM or APP certification, APICS seminars or certification, and KARASS Negotiating would be beneficial.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
