About the Role

As a Rating and Billing Specialist at American President Lines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics services. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and deliver invoices for all services provided under the terms and conditions of agreed contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver invoices for all services provided under the terms and conditions of agreed contracts.
  • Constant communication with stations to ensure all information is entered into the system promptly and accurately for a smoother billing process.
  • Follow up with Operations, Collections, Finance, and other key departments to resolve and provide status on submitted disputes by the customer.
  • Execute proforma discounts, write-offs, bill reversals, bill adjustments, and special rates and transfers based on client agreements.
  • Prepare/review reports to help manage unbilled charges.
  • Proactively test data in our software to correct billing errors.
  • Maintain daily activity above the minimum required percentage of KPIs.
  • Maintain current and accurate customer information such as contacts, addresses, and invoice format requested by the customer.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Advanced Business English level, verbal and written.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is desirable.
  • Organizational, time management, execution, and tracking skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite required (Outlook, pivot tables, lookups in Excel).
  • Proficiency in building Excel Macros is a plus.
  • 1 year in Accounts Receivable or Billing Environment with a large customer base and high transaction volume.
  • Prior ERP experience (World Port is a plus).
  • Interpersonal Communication Skills.
  • Ability to follow client-specific protocols.
  • Problem solving and decision making.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated and disciplined.
