Senior Engineering Leader Role

This role is responsible for managing a team of Technical & Quality resources to address customers' complaints, design, and/or implement manufacturing equipment, methods, and/or systems for testing electronic products and systems through subordinates.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct projects, make detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities.
  • Answer customers' complaints and resolve issues brought forth by them.
  • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.
  • Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for all types of licenses in engineering software.
  • Provide management assistance related to problems and projects.
  • Direct and review product design and changes.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by APQP.
  • Prepare reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information. Present the same for management and executives.
  • Interpret, enforce, and comply with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain expenditure and budgets to the extent authorized and may have the responsibility of inventory or headcount controls.
  • Set departmental goals and objectives consistent with company and corporate business plans.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Direct designated staff of the department in activities related to control of documents and engineering mechanical processes, modifying existing processes, improving techniques, developing test processes and procedures, quality data analysis, and control of equipment.

Direct activities to ensure that installation and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.

Responsible for evaluation and validation of all tool/equipment changes and modifications before release to production.

Participate actively in New Product discussions with cross-functional teams and customers for functional specs and test plan review.

Support preparation and submission of PPAPs and/or First Articles for all new products.

Support/propose continuous improvement projects.

Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.

Support and/or lead complex problems using 8D methodologies, DOE, and other problem-solving tools.

Support Engineering for the creation of Control Plan, FMEA on all new programs.

Lead Engineering Change process for all new programs/products.

Support manufacturing needs to achieve productivity goals.

Responsible for compliance with internal/external policies and regulations.

Read and interpret customer/commercial blueprints and specifications.

Support all other Engineering/Manufacturing activities assigned by direct Manager.

General / Organizational

  • Quality/Compliance with Operations Management, Manufacturing Quality Manager, Quality Systems Manager, Production Manager.
  • Communication with Suppliers, customers, peers, and management.

Qualification

Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering.

Specialized knowledge: Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

Abilities: Analytical and Organized.

Other Characteristics: Uses computer software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Professional Certification: Knowledge in MS-Office, Model/Design software.

Experience: 5 to 10 years in a similar position.
