Job Description

The Senior Financial Strategist will be responsible for overseeing all accounting, tax, and treasury activities, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and Mexican GAAP, as well as local laws and regulations. This role requires a strong partnership with site operations, business units, and shared services to support company goals.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Supervise tax, treasury, and accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, cash and bank management, inventory control, fixed assets, direct and indirect taxes.
  2. Proactively manage inventory risks and work to improve the company's working capital.
  3. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems and processes according to company procedures and policies, ensuring accurate data compilation, analysis, and reporting in compliance with local statutory requirements.
  4. Maintain a sound system of internal controls for SOX 404 compliance.
  5. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and transfer pricing documentation, recommending tax-effective practices while adhering to local tax laws and regulations.
  6. Work with Business Unit Finance to develop annual operational budgets, compile financial analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, and review actual performance against budget and prior period results.
  7. Presents monthly financial results and quarterly balance sheet analysis to senior executive management and alerts them to potential financial exposure.
  8. Represents the company externally on finance-related matters, serving as a liaison with government agencies, internal and external auditors, and financial institutions.
  9. Leads a team of finance employees, develops staffing plans and spending budgets, sets annual performance objectives, monitors performance, establishes schedules for financial projects, prioritizes workloads, coaches, and develops people.
  10. Stays up-to-date with the latest technical, accounting, and regulatory updates, assessing their business impact and implementing solutions that benefit the company.
Requirements

A successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience: 10-15 years of experience in accounting.
  • Proficient in English language (written and spoken).

  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Oracle 11i, Oracle Cloud, and SAP Controlling Module preferred.
