A dynamic position at All Hands And Hearts Smart Response, Inc. that requires a versatile individual to manage and support volunteers during disaster relief efforts. Key responsibilities include coordinating volunteer arrivals and departures, facilitating orientation sessions, and implementing a volunteer engagement strategy to promote peer-to-peer fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the arrival and departure schedule of individual volunteers and groups, conduct pre-arrival phone calls, and answer volunteer inquiries.
  • Welcome new volunteers, ensuring they are settled and have completed all required paperwork.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions introducing the organization and program expectations.
  • Implement the volunteer engagement strategy in a positive and authentic way, organizing fundraising events and activities to motivate and inspire volunteers.
  • Update tracking systems daily, including volunteer arrivals, departures, and donation tracking.
  • Engage volunteers with the alumni network platform by posting program updates and promoting the benefits of membership.
  • Collect feedback surveys from volunteers and collaborate with the program team to review feedback.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with All Hands and Hearts or another disaster response organization preferred.
  • Must be a conversational Spanish speaker.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

Frequent travel, living in a communal environment, and working in outdoor adverse weather conditions are required. The ideal candidate should be able to remain in a stationary position and move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
