Job Summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader II to lead our manufacturing operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and supervising the performance of individuals or a team of associates who assemble components and process raw materials into finished products in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manufacturing Operations Management: Accomplish manufacturing results by coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient production and quality control.
  2. Leadership and Development: Focus on delivering changes through people development and management, ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Participate in daily Core Team and quality meetings to meet and exceed business unit goals and metrics, maintaining open communication with team members, quality department, engineering department, and other stakeholders.
  4. Production Planning and Control: Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of processing flow on shift production summaries.
  5. Manufacturing Information Management: Maintain updated manufacturing information, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records and reports.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe culture and clean work environment in compliance with established policies, procedures, 5's culture, and PBS, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards.
  7. Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and internal benchmarking.
  8. Team Performance Management: Participate with status and improvement plans in weekly meetings and Performance Review of Operations meetings, ensuring team members are aware of expectations and goals.
  9. Attendance and Vacation Management: Manage vacations and attendance for direct reports, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing disruptions to production.
  10. Program Supervision: Supervise and coordinate various company programs, including 5's, cost reduction, and other initiatives.
  11. Value Stream Mapping: Support Value Stream Map creation and maintenance, ensuring efficient production processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  12. Product and Process Introduction: Act as point of contact for new product/process introductions, ensuring safety, ergonomics, 5's, and productivity goals are met.
  13. Improvement and Cost Reduction: Lead and participate in improvement and cost reduction projects, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
  14. Training and Certification: Ensure certification and training of all personnel assigned, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  15. Inventory Management: Coordinate monthly PSA inventory activities, keeping track of discrepancies of PSA inventories (SAP).
  16. Audits and Compliance: Participate in TL9000, ISO 14000 audits to maintain certification, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards.
  17. CAPAS Documentation: Contribute to CAPAS documentation, implementation, and execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Work Experience: 2-4 years of experience in the Manufacturing field (preferred). 3 or more years of experience in leading and/or supervising personnel (preferred).

Skills: Understanding and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping (preferred). Quality Systems and TPM knowledge. Basic Project Management experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Dynamic and able to manage multiple activities and prioritize. Strong Leadership Skills to effectively manage cross-functional teams. Ability to manage diverse resources.

Extraordinary Activities: Contribute and participate in Internal and External Audits in the department, as well as being responsible for the good results of such. Some examples of Audits are: ISO, TL, 5's, Safety, Sarbox, among others.
