Reporting to the Director of Mechanical Engineering, the responsibilities of the Process Engineer include:
Daily Responsibilities:
- Analyze and understand manufacturing processes, technologies, and products.
- Define, execute, and assess proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes of manufacturing failures.
- Engage actively in daily production activities and resolve issues effectively.
- Justify, procure, and implement capital equipment for production enhancements.
- Oversee the production of new process equipment.
- Manage the initiation and implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Establish reliable, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
- Develop and maintain methodologies for process control.
- Create and uphold process documentation.
- Review and optimize processing methods.
- Collaborate with production teams on new process implementations.
- Assist in training development and provide training to production staff during technology transfers.
- Drive innovation in Metal Mechanical projects through reengineering to enhance organizational competitiveness.
- Validate manufacturing processes for mechanical components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Supervise resources in their field, focusing on safety, hygiene, and environmental considerations to boost productivity.
- Experience with punch, bend, insertion, robotic tapping operations, including tool crib management, EDMs, and MRO non-BoM materials.
- Background in the metal-mechanic industry is desirable.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in English.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree.
- Involvement in cycle time and process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and select engineered materials.
- Conduct statistical process research on both new and existing products.
- Implement safety and productivity enhancements.
- Improve manufacturing techniques and throughput.
- Continuously develop manufacturing methods to enhance in-house capabilities.
