Impact in this Role

We're seeking an expert Tooling Engineer to drive our Global Sheet Metal Tooling program, based in Mexico. As a founding member, you'll play a key role in building our Sheet Metal Transfer program, helping Fortune 500 customers leverage our global manufacturing network to bring advanced Sheet Metal products to Mexico.

You'll work with innovative customers in Aerospace, Medical, Automotive, and Industrial and Transportation companies to near-shore their supply chain and bring new innovation to the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our team in China on tooling design and operational workflow to enable successful tooling transfer.
  • Interface with sheet metal suppliers in the USA and Mexico to validate and bring transferred tools online.
  • Work with repair shops to fix and validate technical issues to make each mold operational.
  • Support sales with technical questions and requirements during sales calls and visits.
  • Work with 2D, 3D drawings and other materials, including aluminum, steel, copper, and other metals.

Preferred Qualifications and Traits

  • +10 years of sheet metal experience.
  • +5 years of experience working with China suppliers on tooling transfers.
  • Degreed mechanical engineer.
  • Experience with 2D, 3D drawings and work with different materials.
  • Experience working in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and industrial.
  • Product Assembly experience is a plus, e.g. riveting and welding.
  • AWS Certification is a plus.
  • Experience as a sheet metal Mechanical Engineer, proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting issues.
  • Skilled professional capable of reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
  • Scientific Molding experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to the USA and China (10-20% travel required).
