About the Role

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Group Manager to lead our Modeling Team. As a key member of our Data and Analytics organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Modeling Team: You will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists with diverse backgrounds, including physics, computer science, and mathematics. Your team will focus on improving analytical capabilities across digital, retail products, and customer experience.
  • Develop Strategic Data-Driven Solutions: You will design, develop, and implement machine learning and AI tools to identify underlying drivers of customer behavior and improve sales, revenue, or specific KPIs.
  • Drive Innovation: You will drive innovative methods to improve current models, increase revenue, sales, or customer experience, and reduce risk performance and accuracy of models.
  • Improve Machine Learning Modeling Training Pipeline: You will continue to improve the machine learning modeling training pipeline, considering different architectures and data building blocks.
  • Create Deep-Level Segmentations: You will create deep-level segmentations leveraging enormous amounts of data from traditional and alternative sources to improve decision-making processes in the bank.
  • Make Decisive Decisions: You will make critical decisions every day, considering the certainty of being wrong some of the time.
  • Develop Analytical Frameworks: You will develop and articulate analytical frameworks to solve business challenges.
  • Extract Actionable Insights: You will extract actionable insights based on advanced analysis of customer behavior.
  • Lead and Develop Reporting Subordinates: You will lead and develop reporting subordinates, focusing on developing sound analytical approaches to solve business problems.
  • Drive Innovative Thinking: You will drive innovative thinking about leveraging new tools and methods to transform the analytical capability of the organization.
  • Understand Regulatory Implications: You will understand regulatory implications and develop mitigation/opportunity strategies.
  • Ensure Robust Quantity Control: You will ensure robust quantity control in analytical processes.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: You will demonstrate cross-functional leadership, communicating and influencing to drive towards a common goal.
Requirements
  • 8+ Years of Experience in Data & Analytics: You will have a proven ability in model building and application experience in big data techniques and tools such as Python, R, Spark, and H2O.
  • Strategic Thinking and Team Player: You will have excellent analytical, technical, and/or statistical skills, with the ability to translate large volumes of data.
  • Influencer and Communicator: You will be an influencer who communicates clearly and frequently to both technical analysts and non-technical business leaders.
  • Intellectually Curious: You will consistently seek and develop new opportunities.
  • Modeling Experience: You will have experience in modeling.
  • Bachelor's/University Degree or Equivalent Experience: You will have a Bachelor's/University degree, with a Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
