Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at Spark. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our internal computer users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to internal computer users via phone, email, and in-person
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including laptops, desktops, servers, and network-related systems
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and handle requests with professionalism
  • Document issues and requests into the help desk ticketing system and resolve or escalate as necessary
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting of laptops, desktops, servers, and network-related systems
  • Use critical thinking to resolve customer issues and recommend or perform minor remedial actions
  • Maintain Active Directory user accounts and security consistency
  • Escalate and redirect help desk incidents to the appropriate technical resources
  • Install and maintain Windows-based PCs and laptops in an enterprise environment
  • Configure and troubleshoot laptops, workstations, scanners, printers, faxes, mobile phones, iPads, and other technology-based peripherals
  • Respond to client inquiries concerning system operation and diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems
  • Install software patches as needed and eradicate spyware/viruses
  • Perform department-standard preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Provide first-level help desk support and use discretion to prioritize and complete end-user requests for support
  • Develop, quote, and purchase computer configurations based on individual requests
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation
  • Manage and maintain local IT inventory
  • Provide local employee training classes
  • Configure and install VOIP phones
  • Participate in local project-related tasks
  • Patching local data drops

Requirements

  • Demonstrates proficiency of Help Desk Analyst II duties
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from four-year College; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, reference materials, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Speak English between 75-100%
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting a PC environment, Internet software, spreadsheet, and word processing software, operating systems, advanced knowledge of computers, networking, and peripheral hardware
  • Desirable but not required MCSE, A+, Network+, CCNA
