Key Responsibilities- Drafting Legal Documents: You will be responsible for drafting demand letters, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conducting Legal Research: You will conduct thorough legal research to support the development of cases, ensuring that all relevant laws and regulations are taken into account.
- Collaboration with Attorneys: You will work closely with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions, and other case filings, ensuring that all documents are well-researched and accurately drafted.
- Developing Case Themes: You will develop a case theme that is more than a summation of the evidence, requiring a deep understanding of the case and the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Supporting the Team: You will support the team by creating legal resources for use by other attorneys, ensuring that all team members have access to the information they need to perform their jobs effectively.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Pre-Law, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Proven experience as a legal writer, demand writer, or in a similar role is essential.
- Skills: You must have a strong understanding of legal principles, including personal injury and property damage laws, as well as exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with demand letter formats, legal terminology, and citation styles is essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Equipment: You must have a laptop or desktop with a minimum of 8GB RAM, a Core i5 or above processor, and Microsoft Office installed.
- Internet Connection: A reliable internet connection of at least 10mbps is required.
- Time Zone: You must be willing to work in US time zones.
