Job Opportunity: Associate Legal Counsel

We seek an experienced Associate Legal Counsel to join our team in the AMERICAS region. Under Senior Legal Counsel direct supervision, this role provides legal advice to corporate management on various legal matters. The successful candidate will ensure that business practices, policies, and agreements meet regulatory requirements, preventing the organization from litigation. Key responsibilities include researching, interpreting, and preparing legal and business communication documents and contracts. You will also prepare and maintain official records, notices, and actions as required by international, federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Support contract review in line with DHL Corporate Guidelines.
  • Provide technically accurate and commercial legal advice.
  • Research and draft memoranda, briefings, and findings to Sr. Counsel/Board.
  • Advise on aspects of law and regulation applicable to the business unit.
  • Liaise with external counsel and optimize briefing and interpretation of their advice.
  • Assist in sourcing and collaborating with external legal counsels.
  • Contribute to research and drafting advice/response/opinion for assigned subject matter.
  • Negotiate contracts in line with divisional unit instructions.
  • Liaise with external law firms to conclude transactions.
  • Develop a 'Demand Lawyer' dedicated Business Unit support process.
  • Offer specialized advice in areas like Finance, Competition/Antitrust, Intellectual Property, Airfreight, Oceanfreight, Information Technology, Procurement, Data Protection, Employment & Labor Law.
Your Profile

We seek an individual with:

  • Fundamental knowledge of law concepts, practices, and procedures or a particular field of specialization.
  • Advanced English skills (Writing and Speaking).
  • Highly organized and capable of facilitating meetings/workshops and presenting to groups.
  • Energetic, proactive, and customer-focused approach.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
  • LL.B. or equivalent degree.
