At Wood Mackenzie Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our Power and Renewables practice. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and maintenance of databases and reports.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and synthesize market intelligence through data gathering and direct client outreach. You will be responsible for updating, maintaining, and developing data tools to support the analysis of utility-scale battery projects, vendor market shares, installation costs, and deployment trends.

Key responsibilities of the role include data analysis and visualization activities, as well as report and insight generation in support of the fundamental analysis efforts of the team and our clients. You will also provide support for client and industry stakeholder presentations at trade shows, conferences, and other events.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with new data collection on energy storage technology trends, policy and regulatory drivers, project deployments, pricing, and competitive landscape.
  • Assist with the development of original market analysis, research, and consulting with a culmination in client deliverables and industry thought leadership pieces.
  • Build, populate, maintain, and create new datasets and models to ensure timely capture of current industry trends.
  • Provide support for client and industry stakeholder presentations at trade shows, Wood Mackenzie conferences, and other events.
  • Produce reports and data as required to support our research deliverables and consulting engagements.
  • Collaborate with peers across Wood Mackenzie to support research reports, conferences, marketing services, and editorial coverage.
  • Work with other teams across Wood Mackenzie to leverage internal expertise and maintain the consistency and integrity of data.

About You:

  • Interest in renewable energy and the broad transformation of the electricity sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, communication, and organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical background or technically-minded individual.
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye towards collaboration.
  • An engaging nature, capable of connecting with co-workers, clients, and industry stakeholders in a wide range of professional settings.
  • A deep intellectual curiosity about the effect of a wider business landscape.
  • Superior listening, critical thinking, and writing skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Experience in the following are preferred, but not required: VBA, SQL, or Python.
