Test Software Engineer for Advanced Manufacturing

As a key member of the Advanced Manufacturing division, the Manufacturing Test Software Engineer will concentrate on developing software solutions that facilitate product testing throughout the manufacturing cycle. This role will collaborate closely with contract manufacturers, manufacturing engineers, design engineers, and supply chain teams. The position is responsible for enhancing existing testing protocols, designing new testing processes, introducing new products, transitioning factories, and qualifying components.
The engineer will analyze Factory Yields, Test Applications, and engineering documentation. This role is tasked with maintaining and approving detailed records of testing processes for each evaluation. Additionally, the position involves creating Test Requirements Documents, developing Test Code, and performing Data Analytics.
This role is based in our Guadalajara office and supports a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
Create Test Code utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio (C#, Visual Basic), Lua, Python, and C++. Write basic SQL Queries. Develop and maintain Python, C, and C++ applications on platforms such as Raspberry Pi or similar. Familiarity with issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and version control (GitLab). Basic knowledge of computer architecture to assist in developing testing software and low-level firmware. Engage in the design of PCBA testing strategies for new products. Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to validate new components. Monitor production yields and address any testing process issues. Analyze data to propose solutions, implement recommendations, and track outcomes. Assess and approve costs associated with testing processes and assembly. Occasional travel may be required. Assist in troubleshooting parts and processes. Debug products during New Product Introduction (NPI) in collaboration with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers. Operate effectively under pressure during critical closing periods. Implement 8D/Fishbone methodologies.Required Qualifications:
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant field. General understanding of electrical testing, including ICT and functional testing, with the ability to interface with fixture and programming suppliers. Knowledge of electronic component handling and storage standards, including J-STD-020 and J-STD-033. Strong proficiency in coding tools such as C++, Python, SQL, C#, Visual Basic, Lua, Jira, and GitLab. Experience in resolving complex technical issues. Familiarity with Contract Manufacturing and Global Supply Chains is preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
