Job Summary

Polaris is seeking a highly skilled Spec, Material Flow Engineer to drive the development and implementation of future-state operations. This role will focus on shaping the operations strategy, developing and refining standard processes, and leading the execution of specific projects related to insourcing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the current Manufacturing Optimization approach and its impact on Long Range Plans (LRP). Provide analytical contributions and practical insights to support ongoing refinement.
  • Develop and document process improvements as standard work, leveraging the growing toolbox of operations processes to drive standardization of insource, outsourcing, capacity management, and vertical integration related work.
  • Network with stakeholders across various departments and locations to facilitate alignment and drive incremental value Polaris-wide through internal manufacturing changes.
  • Identify new value creation opportunities related to make vs buy manufacturing plans Polaris-wide, using creative thinking and problem-solving skills to drive innovation.
  • Build awareness and agreement for specific value creation projects related to manufacturing make vs buy proposals, and execute the implementation of insourcing and outsourcing projects.
  • Communicate progress and drive the tools of Operational Excellence, including 5S, value-stream mapping, standard work, cell design, pull systems, single piece flow, Kanban, SMED, and TPM/OEE.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, general business, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with a Master's in Quality.
  • 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Results that demonstrate organization and drive.
  • Flexibility to lead projects with a variety of manufacturing disciplines.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Proven track record of improving processes and solving problems.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional groups towards a common goal.
  • Approximately 20% travel required for site and supplier visits.
