About the Role

The Vendor Manager position is a key role within Amazon's Mexico operations, responsible for driving business growth and profitability through effective vendor management and strategic planning.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the business owner for assigned categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact business performance.
  • Monitor competitor and industry developments, and continually adapt strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Maximize Amazon's business profitability and selection expansion opportunities through effective vendor negotiations and pricing strategies.
  • Advocate for customer needs and drive delivery of site features that provide an unparalleled shopping experience.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including supplier/partner contracts, day-to-day relationships, and marketing funds negotiation.
  • Create business plans for new opportunities and develop project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Excel.
  • 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting experience with negotiations and delivering results.
  • Bachelor's degree or certificate of completion of studies required.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing data to drive performance and process improvements.
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development.
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.
